French Fridays with Dorie - Salmon with Basil Tapenade

Friday, July 20, 2012

This has not been my week. Clearly. I can see it, you can see it, even my cat can see it - by the way it has not been her week either, after a visit to the vet, two shots in the backside, complete four paw pedicure and a bath, I am pretty sure she is devising a plan to chock me in my sleep !!

In the course of making this dish I broke a pan and a plate, spilled half of the tapenade on the floor and overcooked burned the salmon. Dorie's recipe was very good. The mess in my kitchen is definitely not her fault. I blame my "Jabba the Hut Ego" who's been pretty active this past week, disorganising my thoughts, paralysing my brain and my hands!

For me cooking is completely in sync with my emotions. You can taste my joy in a sweet (always sugar free) cocoa mousse and my confusion in a half burned roasted salmon like this one today...

  5. Oh Maria it happens to us all! For me its more likely to be the blogging issues than the cooking ones but I've had my share in the kitchen too:)

    1. Thank you Cher! Things are looking better...at least I did not break anything else, even though I spilled the new batch of olive tapenade I made today AGAIN!!!! Oh! I think it is not meant to be for me to eat the whole thing or my kitchen floor is seriously craving it and pulls it down. There is no other explanation!!!!
